Authorities in Big Bear Lake, California, have arrested Jeff Maiorca for the 2006 homicide of his wife, Jill Maiorca. Although the victim was reported missing in 2007, her unidentified remains were not discovered until 2020 when a resident found them in a house crawlspace. The case remained unsolved until 2023, when advanced DNA testing successfully identified the body as the missing woman. Following this breakthrough, detectives named her husband as the primary suspect and took him into custody nearly two decades after the crime occurred. While a specific motive has not been made public, the suspect is currently being held in a detention center as the investigation concludes.
