In 1981, human skeletal remains discovered in a remote Tennessee woodland remained unidentified for decades because limited forensic technology and the fragmented condition of the bones prevented a successful investigation. Law enforcement eventually partnered with Othram and utilized advanced forensic genetic genealogy to extract a viable DNA profile from the preserved bones. By matching this genetic data with living relatives, investigators positively identified the remains as William Thomas Green, a man who had mysteriously vanished in late 1977. This breakthrough provided much-needed closure to Green's grieving family, who had long wondered about his fate. Currently, authorities are actively investigating his final days and associates to determine the exact circumstances surrounding his death.
