In January 2014, Donna Scrivo reported her mentally ill son, Ramsay, missing, but investigators soon discovered dismembered human remains in trash bags scattered along a Michigan roadside. Authorities traced the dumped body parts back to Ramsay, finding extensive blood evidence and bleach inside his condo, alongside surveillance footage capturing Donna purchasing a circular saw. Although Donna initially claimed no involvement, she later fabricated a story about a masked intruder forcing her to dispose of the body to protect her family. Prosecutors successfully argued that she drugged, strangled, and mutilated her son to escape the burdens of his ongoing guardianship and start a new life. In 2015, Donna was found guilty on all counts and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
