ProveKit, the zero-knowledge toolkit World open-sourced on 2 September, lets a phone read a passport chip, a passkey, a signed email or an anonymous credential and send out a proof of one fact about it while the document stays on the device. It proves in 2 to 3 seconds on an iPhone SE 3 and under 30 seconds on a 2GB Moto E15, works offline and is free under an MIT licence. This piece sets out eight things developers can build with it now: petitions only citizens can sign once, nationality pricing at a monument gate, children's spaces adults cannot enter, reviews only real guests can write, workplace reviews that cannot be traced, account recovery that never stores a passport, AI agents with a spending limit signed by a human and aid distribution with no signal.
