Companion.energy migrated its real-time energy telemetry platform from Azure PostgreSQL to Tiger Cloud after database performance and storage constraints began affecting customers. The migration delivered 25x faster latest-reading queries, compressed 1.7 TB of logical data into 39 GB, enabled continuous aggregates over 283 million rows, and made multi-billion-row scans practical. The team completed the migration in eight weeks while maintaining replication and row-count parity.
