Revealing Good Take's Team Of the Season | Good Take

Which NBA underdog should you believe in for the 2026-27 season? Forget the championship favorites. On Good Take, we're adopting ONE overlooked NBA team and riding with them all season long.

Wes Goldberg and Mike Shearer of Basketball Poetry introduce the Good Take Team of the Season, a new tradition where they nominate, debate and ultimately choose a team that isn't considered a contender but has a realistic shot at winning 40 games.

Could Cooper Flagg and a healthy Kyrie Irving lead the Dallas Mavericks back to relevance? Are the Charlotte Hornets better positioned to win without LaMelo Ball? Can Cameron Boozer, Zach Edey and Ty Jerome make the Memphis Grizzlies a surprise playoff team? Plus, Mike makes the case for the Phoenix Suns, and the Utah Jazz enter the conversation. The guys weigh each team's upside, weaknesses and entertainment value before making their official selection — a team they'll follow throughout the season.
