Midwest Mayhem: Wrestling, Relocation, and Redemption w/ Bryant Dismukes Jr

In this week’s episode of the Brews & Cruise Podcast, we sit down with professional wrestler, father, gamer, and survivor — Bryant Dismukes Jr. What starts as a casual conversation over Arizona green tea quickly becomes a powerful deep-dive into one man’s transformation.

Bryant shares his story of relocating from the chaos and concrete of Chicago to the quiet, small-town pace of Winona, Minnesota — a move that marked the beginning of a personal evolution. We talk about his early days in the wrestling world, the grind of independent promotions, and what it really takes to entertain a crowd while battling your own demons behind the scenes. Our shared history in the ring brings a unique, behind-the-curtain energy to the conversation — equal parts nostalgia and hard truth.

Beyond wrestling, Bryant opens up about his love for music (from old-school rap to deep cuts), his passion for video games, and how these hobbies became lifelines when life got heavy. He speaks candidly about his family — the love, the responsibility, and the wake-up call that came when he realized he was spiraling into addiction.

In one of the episode’s most honest and gripping moments, Bryant walks us through his journey to sobriety — the breaking point, the setbacks, and the decision to fight for his life outside the ring. It’s emotional, raw, and incredibly inspiring.

This episode isn’t just about wrestling moves — it’s about real moves. Life moves. Recovery, fatherhood, friendship, and the fight to become someone you can finally be proud of.
