Toy Story 5 Is Pixar's Best Sequel in Years

This week on The Overshare Pamphlet, I'm talking about one of the biggest movie surprises of the year: Toy Story 5. As someone who grew up with the franchise, I went into this sequel with a mix of excitement and skepticism—but Pixar managed to win me over completely. From the emotional storytelling to its stunning animation, this feels like a genuine return to form for one of cinema's most beloved franchises.

We dive into the film's surprisingly thoughtful exploration of technology, screen time, and childhood imagination. I discuss why Jessie emerges as the movie's emotional center, how the story tackles the growing role of devices in children's lives, and why its message about balancing technology with real-world connection feels incredibly relevant today. For a family film, Toy Story 5 has a lot more on its mind than you might expect.
