Oscars Predictions 2025: Movies, Music, and the State of Pop Culture

In this week’s episode of The Overshare Pamphlet, I’m switching things up a bit. Instead of my usual deep dives into music and internet culture, I’m talking about the fast-approaching 2025 awards season — and honestly, what a weird year it’s been for entertainment. Between algorithms fracturing audiences and the lack of true breakout hits, it feels like no one’s watching or listening to the same thing anymore.

I share my thoughts on the big Oscar contenders — from Sinners and One Battle After Another to Wicked: Part Two — plus some under-the-radar picks like Hamnet and Marty Supreme. I also chat about what this year says about where movies (and pop culture in general) are heading, and why it’s getting harder to create real cultural “moments.”

And of course, I couldn’t end without my Songs of the Week — with new favorites from Carly Rae Jepsen, PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson, Kim Petras, and Kim Lip. Expect plenty of opinions, some passionate rants, and a few hot takes along the way.

Grab your morning coffee — or an Aspire Healthy Energy if you’re feeling fancy — and let’s dive into the chaos that is Hollywood’s award season.
