The episode details the brutal murder of celebrity hairstylist Fabio Sementilli in January 2017, which initially appeared to be a botched residential robbery in Los Angeles. Investigators quickly uncovered a dark web of greed and infidelity, revealing that Fabio's wife, Monica, had orchestrated his death with her lover, Robert Baker. Monica and Baker exchanged tens of thousands of messages, coordinated the timing of the attack, and plotted to cash in on Fabio's lucrative life insurance policy. With the assistance of an accomplice named Christopher Austin, Baker carried out the fatal stabbing at the couple's home. Ultimately, the conspirators were brought to justice through DNA evidence, surveillance footage, and co-conspirator testimony, leaving Fabio's grieving children to rebuild their lives.
