Story Transcript:

Cy: Yn gymdogaeth gartrefol, tafluodd heulwen hwyr yr haf ar draws y rhes o dai teras, lle roedd plant yn chwarae ar y strydoedd ac roedd teimlad o ddisgwyliad yn codi gyda dechrau’r ysgol yn nesáu.
En: In a cozy neighborhood, the late summer sunshine cast across the row of terraced houses, where children played in the streets and a sense of anticipation was rising with the start of school approaching.

Cy: Roedd Rhiannon yn drist wrth syllu allan o'r ffenestr y gegin, yn poeni am Emrys, eu mab benywaidd a oedd yn edrych ymlaen at ddechrau'r flwyddyn ysgol.
En: Rhiannon was sad as she stared out the kitchen window, worrying about Emrys, their girlish son who was looking forward to starting the school year.

Cy: Roedd ei gynorthwyo ef yn dod â phryder gwahanol.
En: Helping him brought its own kind of worry.

Cy: Ar y bwrdd o'i blaen, roedd rhestr o gyflenwadau ysgol.
En: On the table in front of her was a list of school supplies.

Cy: Disglodion, pensiliau, llyfrau - popeth yr oedd ei angen gan Emrys.
En: Scissors, pencils, books - everything Emrys needed.

Cy: Roedd y rhestr yn ymddangos yn ddiddiwedd, a rhoddai poen ym meddwl Rhiannon wrth feddwl am y treuliau.
En: The list seemed endless, and it pained Rhiannon to think about the expenses.

Cy: Roedd Gareth, ei gwr difater, ar lawr gwaelod yn plastro wal y cyntedd, wedi'i ddal yn brin yng nghyffro ei broject diweddaraf yn y tŷ.
En: Gareth, her indifferent husband, was downstairs plastering the hallway wall, absorbed in the excitement of his latest project in the house.

Cy: Doedd o ddim yn ymwybodol o'i phrinder.
En: He was unaware of her shortage.

Cy: “Beth am siarad â mein loyw? Gofyn am help,” meddyliodd Rhiannon.
En: “What about talking to bright mynahs? Ask for help,” Rhiannon thought.

Cy: Ond roedd ei hysbrydloneth yn crafu gwastraff yr hollolsiant.
En: But her inspiration scraped against the futility of the situation.

Cy: Yn lle hynny, penderfynodd wynebu Gareth.
En: Instead, she decided to face Gareth.

Cy: Pan aeth y dydd tuag at y nos, arhosodd Rhiannon iddo roi’r llawdrin i’w lef ar y fainc.
En: As the day turned to night, Rhiannon waited for him to set the trowel down on the bench.

Cy: "Gareth," dechreuodd yn bwyllog, ei eiriau’n drysu o’i ceg.
En: "Gareth," she began calmly, her words stumbling from her mouth.

Cy: “Mae angen i ni siarad am Emrys a’i bethau ysgol.”
En: “We need to talk about Emrys and his school things.”

Cy: Edrychodd Gareth i fyny, cochiad yn ei wedd wrth glywed y tensiwn yn ei llais.
En: Gareth looked up, a flush on his face at hearing the tension in her voice.

Cy: "Beth sy’n bod?" gofynnodd gyda sensitifrwydd newydd.
En: "What's wrong?" he asked with newfound sensitivity.

Cy: "Mae’r gost o bopeth," esboniodd Rhiannon, gan symud tuag at y bwrdd.
En: "It's the cost of everything," explained Rhiannon, moving towards the table.

Cy: "Dwi'n poeni sut y byddwn ni'n talu am bopeth."
En: "I’m worried about how we’ll pay for everything."

Cy: Roedd golwg Gareth yn meddalu, ac aeth ag ymael sydd wedi atto i edrych ar y rhestr hefyd.
En: Gareth's expression softened, and he joined her to look at the list as well.

Cy: Yn dawel, cawsant drafodaeth onest.
En: Quietly, they had an honest discussion.

Cy: Ddim am na chostau cudd, heb gysu llediaeth.
En: Not about hidden costs, without avoiding the real issues.

Cy: Dros y bore tatw, a’r dydd tan hynny, roeddent yn cynllunio eu cyllideb gyda’i gilydd.
En: Throughout the early morning, and the day since then, they planned their budget together.

Cy: Fe symudodd Rhiannon i lawr o bryder, yn teimlo cysylltiad newydd â Gareth, a gwybod roeddent wedi dod o hyd i ffordd ymlaen.
En: Rhiannon moved down from her worry, feeling a new connection with Gareth, knowing they had found a way forward.

Cy: Roedd Gareth, wedi cael ei ddeffro, yn fwy ymwybodol nawr o’r bwysau ariannol.
En: Gareth, having been awakened, was more aware now of the financial pressure.

Cy: Gan wylio Emrys yn cerdded allan i'r haul hwyr haf honno i ymarfer ar gyfer y flwyddyn ysgol newydd, roedd Rhiannon yn teimlo tawelwch o dan yr awyr las.
En: Watching Emrys walk out into that late summer sun to prepare for the new school year, Rhiannon felt peace under the blue sky.

Cy: Roedd popeth yn deimlad o gyfryngau cysylltiedig a diolchgarwch am ddechrau newydd y flwyddyn.
En: Everything was a feeling of connectedness and gratitude for the new beginning of the year.

Cy: Mae mab Emrys, Gareth a Rhiannon, a’r gobaith newydd yn eu calonnau.
En: There was Emrys, son of Gareth and Rhiannon, and the new hope in their hearts.
