Story Transcript:

En: In the rays of the hot summer sun, the psychiatric ward glistened like a gemstone, its light filling the room with a certain dose of hope.

En: The walls in the room were blue, nothing special, yet they had some power to soothe those who found themselves there.

Sk: Dlhými chodbami kráčal Marek.
En: Marek walked through the long corridors.

Sk: Bol to deň ako každý iný, a predsa v sebe skrýval niečo výnimočné.
En: It was a day like any other, yet it concealed something exceptional.

Sk: Marek bol psychiater.
En: Marek was a psychiatrist.

En: Young, but with circles under his eyes illuminated and a tired expression.

Sk: Bojoval s vyhorením.
En: He was battling burnout.

Sk: Dnes mal stretnutie s novou pacientkou, Zuzanou.
En: Today, he had a meeting with a new patient, Zuzana.

En: She was dressed in a simple robe, staring at the ground, and it seemed that brighter days were something she had long forgotten.

Sk: Jej myšlienky boli zapletené, celé roky ich dusila vo svojom vnútri a ťažko si pripúšťala, že ich musí vyložiť na stôl pred cudzím mužom.
En: Her thoughts were tangled, she had been suppressing them inside for years and struggled to admit that she had to lay them out on the table before a stranger.

Sk: Janko, mladý ošetrovateľ s vreckami na očiach, vyzeral, akoby ho viac zaujímala hra než pacienti.
En: Janko, a young caregiver with bags under his eyes, seemed more interested in games than patients.

En: In truth, he carried so much love within himself that few could understand why he was the way he was.

En: He often walked the corridors with a gentle smile, but this time his mind was filled with doubts.

Sk: Marek vstúpil do miestnosti, kde Zuzana už sedela.
En: Marek entered the room where Zuzana was already sitting.

Sk: Pozdravil ju s úsmevom.
En: He greeted her with a smile.

Sk: "Ako sa máte dnes, Zuzana?
En: "How are you today, Zuzana?"

Sk: " Jeho otázka znela úprimne.
En: His question sounded sincere.

Sk: Zuzana bez pohybu ticho sedela.
En: Zuzana sat still in silence.

Sk: Jej oči boli smutné, plné bremena, ktoré niesla so sebou príliš dlho.
En: Her eyes were sad, full of the burden she had carried with her for too long.

En: "We know it can be difficult," Marek tried again.

Sk: "Ale občas je dobré začať malým krokom.
En: "But sometimes it's good to start with a small step."

En: Zuzana just quietly looked at him.

En: She felt safe but didn't want to open up just like that.

Sk: Marek sa rozhodol pre nový prístup.
En: Marek decided on a new approach.

Sk: "Keď som začal pracovať tu, cítil som sa tiež stratený," povedal a pozrel sa priamo do jej očí.
En: "When I started working here, I felt lost too," he said, looking directly into her eyes.

En: "Sometimes it's important to know that we are not alone."

En: Zuzana hesitated for a moment, but then her voice broke.

Sk: "Marek, prežila som veci, ktoré ma stále prenasledujú.
En: "Marek, I've experienced things that still haunt me.

Sk: Nikdy som si nemyslela, že ich niekomu poviem.
En: I never thought I'd tell anyone about them."

En: Silence filled the room, but the ice had been broken.

Sk: Marek jemne povzbudil Zuzanu k rozprávaniu.
En: Marek gently encouraged Zuzana to speak.

En: With each additional word, her tension eased, and Marek felt his own passion for the work returning.

En: Zuzana began to believe that she too could find light in the life she so longed for.

Sk: Po úspešnom sedení Janko zaklopal na dvere.
En: After the successful session, Janko knocked on the door.

Sk: "Marek," povedal s nečakanou vážnosťou, "videl som, ako ti to dnes išlo.
En: "Marek," he said with unexpected seriousness, "I saw how it went for you today.

En: It's something I would like to be a part of.

Sk: Skutočne mi na týchto ľuďoch záleží.
En: I truly care about these people."

Sk: "Marek pokynul Jankovi, aby si sadol.
En: Mare
