Et: Kaisa istus oma ühiselamu toas.
En: Kaisa sat in her dormitory room.
En: She looked out the window, where the leaves swirled in the wind, and the sky was dark gray.
En: Autumn in Tartu was beautiful, but her thoughts were elsewhere.
En: Kaisa was preparing for the weekend in Helsinki, which meant a brief break.
En: Mihkel, her study mate, was silently reading notes on the other side of the table.
Et: "Miks sa oled nii mureliku näoga?"
En: "Why do you look so worried?"
En: asked Mihkel when he noticed the tense expression on Kaisa's face.
Et: "Täna hommikul muutis professor loenguaegu.
En: "This morning the professor changed the lecture times.
Et: Pean veidi rohkem õppima," vastas Kaisa ohates.
En: I need to study a bit more," replied Kaisa with a sigh.
Et: "Kardaan, et hilinen rongi peale."
En: "I'm afraid I'll miss the train."
Et: Mihkel naeratas julgustavalt.
En: Mihkel smiled encouragingly.
Et: "Reisi nautimine on oluline.
En: "Enjoying the trip is important.
En: Let's do it so that you review things on the train.
Et: Graafikusse mahub üks kordamine küll."
En: There's time in the schedule for a review."
En: Kaisa nodded, even though she had a little worry that skipping lectures might affect her later.
En: However, the long-term plan to go with Anu to Helsinki was something she tried not to let slip away.
Et: Kell hakkas kiirelt tiksuma.
En: Time started ticking fast.
En: Kaisa packed her backpack, already on the brink of being late.
En: She waved Mihkel goodbye, took her coat, and hurried out.
En: In the small streets of Tartu, the breath of autumn was palpable.
Et: Kollakaspruunid lehed krabisesid tema sammude all.
En: Yellowish-brown leaves rustled under her steps.
En: But then the least needed thing happened—her backpack strap broke.
Et: Asjad laiali, Kaisa käed värisesid küllastavatest närvidest.
En: Things scattered, Kaisa's hands trembled from overwhelming nerves.
En: She knew every second counted.
En: But suddenly Anu was there, as if appearing from nowhere.
Et: "Ma aitan sul need kokku korjata," ütles Anu kindlameelselt.
En: "I'll help you gather these up," said Anu firmly.
En: Together they picked up everything scattered on the ground.
En: Time was against them, but they moved quickly and achieved a lot together.
En: Finally, panting, they reached the stop just as the train pulled in.
Et: Rongi istudes puhkes Kaisa kergendatusest naerma.
En: Sitting in the train, Kaisa burst into laughter from relief.
Et: Anu keeras talle naeratusega pea, kiigates aknast põgenevat maastikku.
En: Anu turned her head with a smile, glancing at the fleeing landscape out the window.
En: "Our weekend begins now," she said cheerfully.
En: Arriving in Helsinki, the air was crisp, and the sea smelled of autumn.
En: Kaisa felt a sense of freedom and decided to leave the burdens behind, even if temporarily.
En: She knew this trip taught her something important: nothing can replace friendship, and the value of a break shouldn’t be underestimated.
En: Lessons can always wait, but moments like these are remembered forever.
