Fi: Aino istui hiljaa katukivetyksellä.
En: Aino sat quietly on the curb.
Fi: Aurinko paistoi kirkkaasti, ja linnut visersivät tuulessa.
En: The sun shone brightly, and the birds chirped in the wind.
Fi: Kesäpäivä oli täydellinen, mutta Aino ei osannut nauttia siitä.
En: The summer day was perfect, but Aino couldn't enjoy it.

En: A few hours ago, she had noticed that her bicycle was missing.
