Story Transcript:

En: A cold wind blew against Eero's face as he stepped into the yard of the abandoned warehouse.

Fi: Satu kulki hänen vierellään, kädet tiukasti takin taskuissa ja katse valppaana.
En: Satu walked beside him, her hands tucked tightly in her coat pockets and her gaze watchful.

En: It was autumn, and fallen leaves lay on the ground, rustling beneath their steps.

Fi: "Eero, oletko varma tästä?"
En: "Eero, are you sure about this?"

Fi: Satu kysyi, katsellen epäluuloisesti varaston hiljaisia seiniä.
En: Satu asked, eyeing the silent walls of the warehouse suspiciously.

Fi: Ikkunat olivat rikki ja metallipinnat ruostuneet.
En: The windows were broken, and the metal surfaces rusted.

En: The place looked like it could collapse at any moment.

Fi: "Olen.
En: "I am.

Fi: Haluan nähdä, miltä täällä nyt näyttää," Eero vastasi, hänen silmissään kiilui muistoja.
En: I want to see what it looks like now," Eero replied, memories glinting in his eyes.

Fi: Hän muisti lapsuusajan leikit, kuinka he olivat juosseet ympäri kellarista katolle.
En: He remembered childhood games, how they had run from the basement to the roof.

Fi: Siellä he olivat olleet kuninkaita, seikkailijoita ja uneksijoita.
En: There, they had been kings, adventurers, and dreamers.

Fi: He astuivat sisään varastoon.
En: They stepped inside the warehouse.

Fi: Sisällä oli hiljaista, lähes pyhää.
En: It was quiet inside, almost sacred.

En: Sounds echoed off the walls, as if the past were whispering to them.

Fi: Mitä kauemmas he kulkivat, sitä enemmän muistoja tulvi Eeron mieleen.
En: The farther they walked, the more memories flooded into Eero's mind.

Fi: "Katso, tuossa oli meidän salainen piilopaikka," hän sanoi osoittaen nurkassa olevaa pölyistä sohvaa.
En: "Look, that was our secret hiding place," he said, pointing to a dusty sofa in the corner.

Fi: "Ei tämä ole turvallista, Eero.
En: "This isn't safe, Eero.

En: The roofs might collapse," Satu said, but her voice softened when she saw the excitement on Eero's face.

En: She understood that this place meant more to Eero than she had guessed.

En: On the floor was an old toy car, which he recognized immediately.

Fi: Se oli heidän, hänen ja Satun.
En: It was theirs, his and Satu's.

Fi: He olivat saaneet sen syntymäpäivälahjaksi samana vuonna, kun he olivat päättäneet muuttaa maailman tämän varaston suojista käsin.
En: They had received it as a birthday gift the same year they decided to change the world from the shelter of this warehouse.

Fi: "Katsos, Satu," Eero hymähti ja nosti auton maasta.
En: "Look, Satu," Eero chuckled and picked up the car from the floor.

Fi: "Eikö olekin hassua, miten muisti toimii?
En: "Isn't it funny how memory works?

En: Everything felt so big and significant back then."

Fi: He istuivat pölyiselle lattialle, ympäröitynä menneisyydeltä ja vaimeilta seikkailujen kuiskauksilta.
En: They sat on the dusty floor, surrounded by the past and the faint whispers of adventures.

Fi: "Aika muuttaa kaikki," Eero sanoi hiljaa.
En: "Time changes everything," Eero said quietly.

Fi: "Mutta ehkä se on hyvä.
En: "But maybe that's good.

Fi: Muistoista voi silti pitää kiinni, vaikka aika tekee tehtävänsä."
En: You can still hold on to memories, even though time does its work."

Fi: Satu katsoi Eeroa ja nyökkäsi.
En: Satu looked at Eero and nodded.

Fi: "Ymmärrän, miksi halusit tulla tänne.
En: "I understand why you wanted to come here.

En: It's important to remember, but also to accept that life moves forward."

Fi: He istuivat siinä kauan, muistellen, nauraen ja kyynelehtien.
En: They sat there for a long time, reminiscing, laughing, and shedding tears.

Fi: Lopulta he nousivat ylös, käsi kädessä, valmiina lähtemään takaisin nykyaikaan.
En: Finally, they got up, hand in hand, ready to return to the present.

Fi: Kun he kävelivät ulos varastosta, oli kuin he olisivat jättäneet osan itseään jälkeensä mutta myös vieneet jotain mukanaan – yhteisen ymmärryksen muutoksesta ja jatkuvasta ystävyydestä.
En: As they walked out of the warehouse, it was as if they had left a part of themselves behind but also taken something with them—a shared understanding of change and enduring friendship.
