Badlands Daily: 9/30/26 - CISA's Election Blueprint, At Home Passports & Pentagon Brass Cuts

CannCon and Ashe kick off Ash Wednesday joking that they have spent more time together this week than with anyone else, then dive into a college athletics fight that turns into a real discussion about federal overreach and the Commerce Clause. From there it is a genuinely fun segment on the State Department rolling out an at home passport application, complete with Rubio demoing the process and a new gold box that CannCon suspects will troll a lot of people. The heart of the show is CISA releasing its first public election security plan since much of that work was frozen, with a detailed walk through of patching failures, insider risk, and NGO access to voter rolls in real time. They also cover Hegseth trimming senior headquarters positions and a caravan story with an election angle.
