Story Transcript:

Uk: Теплий осінній день підходив до завершення.
En: A warm autumn day was drawing to a close.

Uk: У полі розцвіли соняхи, останні яскраві квіти цього сезону.
En: Sunflowers, the last bright flowers of the season, bloomed in the field.

Uk: Ярослав і Оксана стояли посеред поля, яке тягнулося до самого обрію.
En: Yaroslav and Oksana stood in the middle of the field, which stretched to the horizon.

Uk: листя шурхотіло під їх ногами, а повітря було прохолодним і свіжим від наближення морозу.
En: Leaves rustled beneath their feet, and the air was cool and fresh with the approach of frost.

Uk: Ярослав, загартований фермер, дивився на соняхи зі стурбованістю.
En: Yaroslav, a seasoned farmer, looked at the sunflowers with concern.

Uk: Цей рік був важким, і треба було зібрати якнайбільше, щоб компенсувати втрати.
En: This year had been difficult, and they needed to harvest as much as possible to compensate for the losses.

Uk: Оксана, його молодша сестра, завжди готова допомогти, принесла кошик.
En: Oksana, his younger sister, always ready to help, brought a basket.

Uk: "Яро, може вже на сьогодні вистачить?
En: "Yaro, maybe that's enough for today?"

Uk: " — з надією запитала Оксана, витираючи чоло від поту.
En: Oksana asked hopefully, wiping the sweat from her forehead.

Uk: "Але нам потрібно встигнути, поки не вдарив мороз", — відповів Ярослав.
En: "But we need to hurry before the frost hits," replied Yaroslav.

Uk: Його голос був твердим, але в очах пробігла втома.
En: His voice was firm, but fatigue flickered in his eyes.

Uk: Він вирішив працювати до пізньої ночі.
En: He decided to work late into the night.

Uk: Оксана притихла, але не відходила від брата.
En: Oksana fell silent but did not leave her brother's side.

Uk: Вона знала наскільки важлива їхня справа і хоч занепокоєння за Ярослава росло, вирішила не сперечатися.
En: She knew how important their task was, and though her worry for Yaroslav was growing, she decided not to argue.

Uk: Під паволочю місяця вони зеленими рядами соняхів рухалися далі.
En: Under the cover of the moon, they moved further along the green rows of sunflowers.

Uk: Ніч усе глибше огортала поле, змушуючи їх пришвидшити ритм.
En: Night enveloped the field more deeply, forcing them to quicken their pace.

Uk: Місяць заливав м'яким світлом, довгі тіні лягали на землю.
En: The moon bathed everything in soft light, and long shadows lay on the ground.

Uk: Втома все більше давалася взнаки, і ночі ставали все холоднішими.
En: Fatigue was increasingly evident, and the nights were growing colder.

Uk: "Яро, давай відпочинемо хоча б трохи", — Оксана вкусила губу, намагаючись бути обережною в своїх словах.
En: "Yaro, let's rest for a while," Oksana bit her lip, trying to be careful with her words.

Uk: Ярослав зупинився, розглянув у тиші поле.
En: Yaroslav stopped and quietly surveyed the field.

Uk: Соняхи піднялися до зірок, захищаючи їх своїми великими листками.
En: The sunflowers rose to the stars, protecting them with their large leaves.

Uk: Він вдихнув глибоко і нарешті погодився.
En: He took a deep breath and finally agreed.

Uk: Вони влаштувалися прямо на землі, притулившись одне до одного, відчуваючи тепло.
