En: The golden leaves quietly fall on the banks of the Dnipro, forming a soft carpet underfoot.

En: Olesya stands, immersed in thoughts, gazing at the shimmering surface of the water, which plays in the rays of the autumn sun.

En: The wind gently strokes her hair as Dmytro approaches her.

En: "Hello, Olesya," he says cautiously, trying to catch her eyes with his gaze.

En: Olesya smiles, although a small shadow of sadness remains in the corners of her lips.

En: "Hello, Dmytro," she replies, and all the years they lost to each other immediately come to mind.

En: They begin to walk along the river, listening to the rustle of leaves underfoot.

En: Their friendship used to be like a great ship on the open sea, but life threw them in different directions.

Uk: «Як ти?
En: "How are you?"

En: Dmytro asks, hoping this simple conversation might lead them to something more.

Uk: Олеся замислюється.
En: Olesya ponders.

En: She wants to tell the truth, to speak of the hard times when she felt lost.

En: But a timidity holds her back, nurturing an uncertainty in her soul.

Uk: «Я добре.
En: "I'm fine.

En: Time heals everything, doesn't it?"

En: Her voice sounds warmer than she actually feels.

En: They continue walking, possibly feeling that an invisible bridge of silent questions hangs between them.

En: Dmytro ventures to address one of them.

En: "Why did we drift so far apart?"

En: he asks, breaking the almost fairy-tale atmosphere of the walk.

En: Olesya stops thoughtfully and looks at the water.

En: She knows it’s worth being honest, and only then can their friendship be revived.

En: "There were moments when I felt lonely when it seemed like nothing could help me," she says quietly, struggling with her emotions.

En: "And I didn’t know how to share it with you."

En: These words, like a key, open the locked doors between their hearts.

En: Dmytro understands that he was also partly to blame for this distance, and his heart fills with compassion.

En: "I'm sorry I wasn't there when you needed me," he says with deep humility, again catching her gaze.

En: Olesya nods, her face becoming noticeably brighter, much like the sky clears after rain.

En: They continue their walk, words becoming unnecessary.

En: The warmth of mutual understanding fills the space between them.

En: As the evening sun hides beyond the horizon, they say goodbye.

En: Olesya leaves with lightness in her heart, leaving sorrow on the shore.

En: Dmytro becomes inwardly enriched, understanding that true friendship takes time to grow and flourish.

En: They promise to meet again, aspiring to new beginnings, free of old shadows.
