Story Transcript:

Sr: Било је касно лето у Београду.
En: It was late summer in Beograd.

Sr: Сунце је грејало улице, а листови на дрвећу почели су да мењају боју.
En: The sun warmed the streets, and the leaves on the trees began to change color.

Sr: Људи су журили ка изборном месту, затегнуто узбуђени због локалних избора.
En: People hurried toward the polling station, tense and excited about the local elections.

Sr: Разнобојне заставе канидата биле су окачене на зидовима, а у ваздуху се осећао дах одговорности.
En: The candidates' colorful banners were hung on the walls, and in the air, there was a breath of responsibility.

Sr: Никола, са мало нервозе, пролазио је кроз гужву.
En: Nikola, feeling a little nervous, was moving through the crowd.

Sr: Био је одлучан да гласа за кандидата који би, веровао је, унапредио локалне услуге, што би користило његовој породици.
En: He was determined to vote for the candidate who, he believed, would improve local services, benefiting his family.

Sr: Ипак, бринуо се да ће излазност бити ниска, да се промене неће догодити.
En: Nonetheless, he was worried that turnout would be low and that change would not happen.

Sr: Поред њега је била Јована, забринута и опрезна.
En: Beside him was Jovana, worried and cautious.

Sr: Често је говорила како њен глас неће променити ништа.
En: She often said how her vote wouldn't change anything.

Sr: "Зашто да гласам, Никола?
En: "Why should I vote, Nikola?"

Sr: " упитала је.
En: she asked.

Sr: "Наши гласови се изгубе у гомили.
En: "Our votes get lost in the crowd."

Sr: "Веселин је био са њима, сјајан и оптимистичан као и увек.
En: Veselin was with them, as bright and optimistic as ever.

Sr: "Сваки глас је важан, Јована.
En: "Every vote is important, Jovana.

Sr: Демократија је наша моћ.
En: Democracy is our power.

Sr: Хајде да направимо шта можемо," рекао је весело.
En: Let's do what we can," he said cheerfully.

Sr: Унутар изборног места, простор је био крцат.
En: Inside the polling station, the space was packed.

Sr: Људи су тихо разговарали, а гласови су се мешали са праском изборних машина.
En: People were speaking quietly, and voices mixed with the sound of the voting machines.

Sr: Никола је окренуо се Јовани.
En: Nikola turned to Jovana.

Sr: "Послушај, Јована.
En: "Listen, Jovana.

Sr: Твој глас може бити тај који прави разлику.
En: Your vote could be the one that makes a difference.

Sr: Ако свако мисли да његов глас не вреди, онда ништа неће бити боље.
En: If everyone thinks their vote doesn't matter, then nothing will get better."

Sr: "Јована је устукнула, размишљала.
En: Jovana hesitated, thinking.

Sr: Није било лако, али њихове речи су је дирнуле.
En: It wasn't easy, but their words moved her.

Sr: На крају, одлучила је да гласа.
En: In the end, she decided to vote.

Sr: Ушла је у кабину, осећајући у себи нову снагу.
En: She entered the booth, feeling a new strength within herself.

Sr: Док су излазили из изборног места, тројац је био испуњен надом.
En: As they left the polling station, the trio was filled with hope.

Sr: Никола, иако је и даље осећао мало тескобе, знао је да је његова акција значајна.
En: Nikola, though still feeling a bit anxious, knew that his action was significant.

Sr: Јована је, осетивши снагу своје одлуке, добила ново уверење у своју моћ.

Sr: Са осмесима на лицима, тројац је напустио изборно место.
En: With smiles on their faces, the trio left the polling station.

Sr: Никола је осетио задовољство, знајући да је учинио све што је могао.
En: Nikola felt satisfaction, knowing he had done everything he could.

Sr: Ово искуство обележило је преокрет за њих обоје.

Sr: Свako од њих је почео да верује у моћ индивидуалног гласа у стварним променама.
