IDW's CEO Gambles The Publisher's Future On "Luck"!?

IDW Publishing is at a crossroads. In a recent, surprisingly candid investor call, CEO Davidi Jonas revealed a radical shift in how the company will operate: moving away from its identity as a "licensing house" to a company that owns its own IP. But with sales down and debt mounting, his strategy relies on one thing: Luck.

In this video, we break down the business of IDW, their "Four Buckets" strategy, and why they are abandoning the model that made them the King of Licensing. We analyze the financial fallout from the Diamond Comic Distributors bankruptcy, the loss of major licenses like Transformers and G.I. Joe, and why IDW is betting everything on owning 100% of their future titles.
