Be Attentive - Sermon for September 20th, 2026

Becoming more like Jesus begins with learning to pay attention to what God is doing within us and around us. This Sunday, Rev. Dr. Sheri Perenon, continues our series through Ephesians with a message titled “Be Attentive,” based on Ephesians 1:15-23. Through Paul’s prayer for the church, we will consider what it means to have our eyes opened to God’s hope, power, and presence. As we become more attentive to His work, we begin to recognize the extraordinary hope we have been called to and the power of Christ at work within His people. We would love to worship with you this Sunday as we discover how greater attentiveness to God can shape the way we live and serve the world around us!

Sermon Questions:

1. Challenge: What is the Holy Spirit leading you to focus on this week?
2. Prayer Practice: Attentiveness

We want to connect with you! Email Pastor Chad at chadf@ljpres.org to get plugged in, or you can find our website at ljpres.org/connect. We hope to see lives transformed by a relationship with Jesus, and we strive to be a place where you experience and are able to express that transforming love of Christ.

It builds our faith to help give back a portion of what God has given us. If you would like to help further His work in La Jolla, San Diego and the world you can give online at LJPres.org/Donate.
