From Tech Lover to CEO: Arba Cooper’s Entrepreneur Journey

She turned a simple business card into a full-on business.
Now she’s sharing the tech, marketing, and mindset lessons every new entrepreneur needs.

In this episode of the EmpowerHER Business Podcast (formerly Women of Color in Business Podcast), host Linette Cottrell sits down with Arba Cooper—digital technologist, marketing strategist, and lifelong lover of all things tech. From earning a full scholarship to Howard University to leaving her engineering career to go full-time in entrepreneurship, Arba opens up about the highs, lows, and realities of building a business from scratch.

She shares how creating a business card for her hairstylist unexpectedly launched her first business, how she balanced corporate life with her side hustle, and what really happened when she hit burnout in 2022—and rebuilt stronger.

In this episode, you’ll learn:
• How following her tech passion became the foundation for Arba’s career
• The power of simple skills (like creating business cards) to launch real income
• What led to her 2022 entrepreneur burnout—and how she recovered
