Fed Raises Interest Rates by Quarter Point

The Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the first time in more than three years, lifting its benchmark rate to a range of 3.75% to 4%. The move could make borrowing more expensive for consumers, while Fed officials say inflation remains elevated and additional rate increases could still be considered.
