Our world and our culture has always loved to co-opt the message of the gospel. There has always been a passion to speak something that sounds good and even sounds like scripture. Have you ever heard "God helps those who help themselves." "Hate the sin, love the sinner." "Money is the root of all evil." “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” Would it surprise you to learn that none of these are in the Bible, and that they are each twisting or shallowing theology in a way that is robbing us of God’s beautiful truth.
