Room For Two

ROOM FOR TWO (by Silvio Vinci)
Your old coat behind the door,
Still a ticket in the sleeve
From the night we missed the train
And forgot we had to leave.
Funny what the small things keep…
When the rest has slipped away.
I took pictures off the wall,
Let the daylight fill the room.
Put the records in a box,
Kept the one I played for you.
Leave a little room for me
Leave a little room for me
In the life you’re walking through.
We don’t need to start with love—
Just a little room for two.
No, we can’t go back.
Let the old days go.
We could take it slow.
Saw you by the corner store,
You were sheltering from rain.
Asked if I still took it black,
And I learned your laugh again.
Leave a little room for me
In the life you’re walking through.
We don’t need to start with love—
Just a little room for two.
No, we can’t go back.
Let the old days go.
We could take it slow.
Leave a little room for me
In the life you’re walking through.
We don’t need to start with love—
Just a little room for two.
No, we can’t go back.
Let the old days go.
We could take it slow.
Let the coffee lose its heat.
Let the traffic hurry by.
There’s an empty chair right here.
We don’t have to say goodbye…
Not this time.
Room for two…
Room for two…
