Sweet Fruit of The Ash

SWEET FRUIT OF THE ASH (by Silvio Vinci)

[Verse I]
Morning sleeps inside your eyes,
silver birds cross violet skies,
I found your shadow in the grass,
sweet fruit of the ash.

The river turns without a sound,
little moons fall to the ground,
your fingers touch the looking glass,
sweet fruit of the ash.

[Chorus]
Stay with me
where the colours slowly grow,
where the wind forgets to blow,
and no one needs to know
where we are.

[Verse II]
Paper horses cross the sun,
every road becomes just one,
we watch the blue horizon pass,
sweet fruit of the ash.

You wear flowers in your hair,
I see oceans everywhere,
the future melts into the past,
sweet fruit of the ash.

[Dream section – whispered]
Maybe we were never here,
maybe we were always near,
sleeping underneath the stars,
waiting for the world to pass.

[Final Chorus]
Stay with me
till the morning loses blue,
till the sky comes shining through,
and every dream we knew
becomes a star.

[Outro]
Softly…
slowly…
nothing has to last.

Only you,
only light,
sweet fruit
of the ash.
