REVEALED: Is Outcome-BASED Thinking DESTROYING Fair Competition

Los Angeles Dodgers celebrate another NLCS run, sparking debate about whether MLB’s competitive balance actually serves its fans. Can small-market teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays, and Milwaukee Brewers realistically compete—and keep their stars—year after year?

[Gary Morgan] breaks down the true impact of baseball’s financial architecture, highlighting how teams with deep pockets like the Dodgers buy opportunity and margin for error, while franchises like the Pirates must be almost perfect just to stay relevant. Key topics include the salary cap debate, the enduring struggle for fan connection in small markets, the challenges of retaining stars like Paul Skenes and Junior Caminero, and whether emulating the Rays’ or Guardians’ models is sustainable. Plus, Gary answers critical listener questions on Mitch Keller trade rumors and the fan impact of a possible labor stoppage. Will MLB find a system that rewards brilliant operations over sheer spending power?
