What do you do when you pray faithfully, believe God can change your situation, and yet the answer doesn't come the way you hoped?
Sometimes the hardest part of faith isn't trusting God when He says yes. It's learning to trust Him when your prayers seem unanswered, when you're waiting longer than you expected, or when what feels like a “no” from God leaves you disappointed, confused, or grieving.
In this episode of the Faith Led Working Moms Podcast, we're talking honestly about unanswered prayer and trusting God when He doesn't give you what you prayed for.
We'll look at Psalm 13 and David's honest conversation with God. He begins by asking, “How long, Lord?” and doesn't hide his disappointment or confusion. Yet by the end of the Psalm, David is able to say, “But I trust in your unfailing love.”
That tension is at the heart of this conversation: you can be disappointed with what God has allowed and still trust who God is.
Lindsay also shares vulnerably from her own experience of praying for God to heal her husband and bring him back to her, and what it means to continue trusting God when the answer to that prayer was not what she desperately hoped for.
Maybe your story is completely different. Maybe you're waiting for God to change a situation in your family, open a door, answer a prayer you've prayed for years, or make sense of something that doesn't make sense.
Wherever you are, this episode is a reminder that you don't have to pretend you're okay with an answer you didn't want. You can bring your disappointment, questions, grief, and confusion honestly to God while continuing to trust His character.
In this episode, you'll discover:Psalm 13:5 (NIV): “But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.”
And 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 reminds us that God is the “God of all comfort” who comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others with the comfort we ourselves have received from Him.
If you're walking through something hard...If you're praying and waiting, wrestling with what feels like a “no” from God, or trying to make sense of a circumstance you never would have chosen, you don't have to process it alone.
