WIN OR LEARN: Why the Pelicans’ SEASON HINGES on Clarity Around Zion Williamson, Derik Queen

New Orleans Pelicans face a defining season: is simply "winning games" enough to measure success, or does the roster need a new direction? Jake Madison tackles whether a playoff appearance is the baseline or if clarity around young stars like Zion Williamson, Jeremiah Fears, and Derik Queen is the true marker for progress. Does Jamahl Mosley’s defensive vision finally raise the team’s floor, and will Zion remind everyone why the franchise continues to build around him?

Key segments highlight emerging offensive identities with Benedict Mathurin, the unresolved questions about roster construction, and what’s at stake if another year passes without tangible answers. The episode also celebrates Jrue Holiday’s lasting impact, ranking him #4 in Pelicans franchise history, and revisits his legendary playoff moments alongside Anthony Davis. Can the Pelicans deliver meaningful April basketball—or will this be another year of spinning their wheels?
