The Doors-Gloria

On this episode of Classic Vinyl Podcast Justin and Tyler tackle The Doors' live rendition of "Gloria," a raw and sexually charged performance that showcases Jim Morrison's powerful vocals and the band's intense live energy. We explore the song's origins (written by Van Morrison), the band's history, different live versions, and how the performance transforms the track into an almost classical depiction of passion.

We discuss the instrumentation, Ray Manzarek's backing vocals and bass/keyboard work, the song's live recordings (Alive She Cried, Bright Midnight Archives and others), and why "Gloria" remains a standout live piece in The Doors' catalog.
