Story Transcript:

Ja: 秋の風が心地よく吹く田舎の寄宿学校で、文化祭の準備が始まった。
En: In the countryside boarding school where the autumn breeze blows pleasantly, preparations for the bunkasai began.

Ja: この学校は古い建物に囲まれ、色とりどりの紅葉がその美しさを際立たせていた。
En: This school is surrounded by old buildings, and the colorful autumn leaves enhance its beauty.

Ja: 学生たちは、道に落ちた葉を踏みしめながら、忙しそうに道具や飾りを運んでいた。
En: The students, stepping on the leaves that had fallen on the path, busily carried tools and decorations.

Ja: はるとは、内向的で勉強熱心な生徒だった。
En: Haruto was an introverted and studious student.

Ja: しかし、心の中では演劇に強い興味を持っていた。
En: However, deep inside, he had a strong interest in theater.

Ja: 文化祭での学校劇に参加したいと思っていたが、彼の内気さが邪魔をしていた。
En: He wanted to participate in the school play for the bunkasai, but his shyness was holding him back.

Ja: 「みんなの前で失敗するなんて絶対嫌だ」と思っていた。
En: He thought, "I absolutely hate the idea of failing in front of everyone."

Ja: 学校では、元気で社交的なゆきが劇のリーダーとしてみんなを取りまとめていた。
En: At the school, the energetic and sociable Yuki was organizing everyone as the leader of the play.

Ja: 彼女はスムーズに指示を出し、みんなから信頼されていた。
En: She gave directions smoothly and was trusted by everyone.

Ja: さくらは、はるとの親友で、彼のことをいつも心配していたが、あまり活動的ではなかった。
En: Sakura was Haruto's close friend and always worried about him, though she wasn't very active herself.

Ja: ある夕方、はるとはさくらに相談することに決めた。
En: One evening, Haruto decided to consult with Sakura.

Ja: 「さくら、僕、劇に出たいんだけど、どうしよう...」と声をかけた。
En: "I want to be in the play, but what should I do...?" he asked.

Ja: 「うん。恥ずかしいよね。でも、あなたならできるよ」とさくらは優しく応えた。
En: "Yeah, it's embarrassing, right? But you can do it," Sakura replied gently.

Ja: その次の日、ゆきははるとに近づいてきた。
En: The next day, Yuki approached Haruto.

Ja: 「聞いたよ!劇に興味あるって?やってみなよ!きっと楽しいよ!」
En: "I heard! You’re interested in the play? Go for it! It'll be fun!"

Ja: 彼女の明るいことばに、はるとは少し勇気をもらった。
En: Her bright words gave Haruto a little courage.

Ja: ついに、オーディションの日が来た。
En: Finally, the day of the audition arrived.

Ja: はるとは緊張して手が震えた。
En: Haruto was so nervous his hands were shaking.

Ja: 最初は言葉がうまく出てこなかったが、ゆきが観客席から微笑んで応援のジェスチャーをすると、落ち着きを取り戻し、いっそう大きな声ではっきりとセリフを言った。
En: At first, he couldn't get his words out properly, but when Yuki smiled and made encouraging gestures from the audience, he regained his composure and spoke his lines loudly and clearly.

Ja: 観客は驚き、拍手を送った。
En: The audience was surprised and applauded.

Ja: 結果発表の日、はるとは劇の主要な役を得た。
En: On the day of the results announcement, Haruto got a major role in the play.

Ja: 彼は自分を信じたことで、仲間たちや自分に新たな自信を持つことができた。
En: By believing in himself, he was able to gain new confidence in his peers and in himself.

Ja: はるとの心は、どこまでも澄んだ青い空のように晴れやかだった。
En: Haruto's heart was as clear and bright as a blue sky stretching endlessly.

Ja: この経験を通して、はるとは自分の殻を破り、よりオープンで自信に満ちた新しい自分を見つけていった。
En: Through this experience, Haruto broke out of his shell and found a new, more open, and confident self.

Ja: 彼はさくらと並んで並木道を歩きながら、これからの文化祭がとても楽しみになった。
En: As he walked down the tree-lined path alongside Sakura, he became very excited about the upcoming bunkasai.
