Story Transcript:

Ja: 東京駅は、夜でもにぎやかです。
En: Tokyo Station is bustling even at night.

Ja: ホームは人でいっぱいで、月が静かに照らしています。
En: The platform is crowded with people, and the moon quietly illuminates it.

Ja: 今日は月見の日です。
En: Today is the day for moon viewing.

Ja: 駅には提灯や飾りが飾られ、秋の夜に美しく輝いています。
En: The station is adorned with lanterns and decorations, beautifully shining in the autumn night.

Ja: 晴人はホームの作業員です。
En: Haruto is a platform worker.

Ja: 彼の手はすすで汚れています。
En: His hands are dirty with soot.

Ja: 晴人は、もっと違うことをしたいと心の中で思っています。
En: In his heart, Haruto wishes he could do something different.

Ja: 彼は本当はアーティストになりたかったのです。
En: He truly wanted to become an artist.

Ja: 「これが終われば、今日は終わりだな」と大地が言いました。
En: "When this is over, we're done for the day," said Daichi.

Ja: 彼は長い間ここで働いてきたベテランです。
En: He is a veteran who has worked here for a long time.

Ja: 「毎年同じ景色だ」と、少し冷めた口調です。
En: "It's the same scenery every year," he said in a somewhat dispassionate tone.

Ja: 「でも、こんなに美しい月を見れるなんて、素敵じゃないですか?」と、エミが笑顔で答えました。
En: "But isn't it wonderful to be able to see such a beautiful moon?" replied Emi with a smile.

Ja: エミは新人で、いつも明るく元気です。
En: Emi is a newcomer, always cheerful and energetic.

Ja: 休憩中、晴人は月を見上げ、心の中の夢を他の二人に話すかどうか迷っていました。
En: During a break, Haruto looked up at the moon, hesitating whether to share his inner dream with the other two.

Ja: 彼は心の奥で自分の夢に不安を感じ、安定した仕事を手放すことに恐れを持っていました。
En: Deep down, he felt anxious about his dream and feared letting go of his stable job.

Ja: ついに、晴人は口を開けました。
En: Finally, Haruto spoke up.

Ja: 「実は、僕はアーティストになりたいんです。
En: "Actually, I want to become an artist.

Ja: でも、今の仕事を辞めるのが怖いんです」
En: But I'm scared to quit my current job."

Ja: エミは目を輝かせて、「晴人さんの絵、見てみたいです!
En: Emi, her eyes sparkling, said, "I want to see your paintings, Haruto!

Ja: 絶対に素敵だと思います」と言いました。彼女は笑顔で晴人を励ましました。
En: I absolutely think they'd be wonderful." She encouraged Haruto with a smile.

Ja: すると、大地も少し笑って、「若いころ、職人になりたかったんだ。
En: Then, Daichi smiled a little and said, "When I was young, I wanted to be a craftsman.

Ja: でも、いろいろあってここにいる。
En: But for various reasons, I ended up here.

Ja: 晴人、やってみる価値はあるぞ」と言いました。
En: Haruto, it's worth trying."

Ja: これを聞いて、晴人は心が温かくなりました。
En: Hearing this, Haruto felt warmth in his heart.

Ja: 仕事に戻るとき、晴人は自分の中に新しい決意を感じました。
En: As he returned to work, he felt a new resolve within himself.

Ja: 夢を追いかける勇気を少しずつ持ち始めたのです。
En: He began to muster the courage to pursue his dream little by little.

Ja: その夜、東京駅のホームで、三人は同じ月を見上げながら、少しだけ自分をそして未来を信じる力を得ていました。
En: That night, on the platform of Tokyo Station, the three of them looked up at the same moon, gaining a little strength to believe in themselves and their future.

Ja: 晴人は一人ではないということを知り、自分の夢に向かって歩む力を感じました。
En: Haruto realized he was not alone and felt the power to walk toward his dream.
