Story Transcript:

En: The entenka police station still held the bustling atmosphere of the festival.

En: The brightly colored chochin decorations, people's laughter, and the lingering scent of the Obon festival wafted around.

En: Amidst all this, Sakura stood at the reception with a slightly nervous look.

En: "Could you call a police officer for me?"

En: she asked the receptionist with a slightly trembling voice.

En: The receptionist nodded with a smile and promptly headed towards the back.

En: A few minutes later, Officer Hiroshi appeared.

En: With a serious expression, he smiled at Sakura and guided her to a nearby seat.

En: "Is there a problem?"

En: "Yes, during last night's Obon festival, I saw something strange."

En: Despite the unease in her heart, Sakura began to speak resolutely.

En: "While we were setting lanterns afloat on the river, I saw a dark shadow in the crowd.

En: It looked like it was searching through pockets."

En: Hiroshi furrowed his brows slightly.

En: "What do you think it could be?"

En: "Honestly, I can't say for sure.

En: But at that moment, I couldn't shake the feeling that something had been stolen."

En: "I see."

En: Hiroshi took out a notebook and began writing carefully.

En: "Could you tell me more details?"

En: Sakura decided that no detail was too trivial and continued to recount her memories.

En: When her childhood friend Yuto came by her side, she felt slightly more reassured.

En: "More than that, the shadow quickly disappeared to avoid causing a commotion."

En: Yuto nodded, showing trust in her words.

En: "Understood.

En: We’ll investigate this together."

En: Hiroshi continued his questions.

En: "Do you know which direction the shadow went?"

En: At that moment, Sakura's eyes were drawn to the lost and found section of the police station.

En: There, she saw a familiar pair of gloves.

En: "That's it!"

En: she exclaimed, standing up unable to contain her excitement.

En: "Those are the gloves I saw at the festival yesterday!"

En: Hiroshi picked up the gloves and began to examine them carefully.

En: "This could be an important piece of evidence."

En: Sakura took a deep breath, satisfied with the outcome of trusting her intuition.

En: "I'm glad I reported it.

En: I hope the truth will be revealed."

En: Hiroshi nodded in understanding, "This gives us a reason to proceed with the investigation.

En: Rest assured, we'll keep a close eye on things."

En: As she left the station, Sakura felt lighter at heart and was proud of her courage.

En: Her determination to seek the truth and her belief in it had turned into newfound confidence, strengthening her.

En: This summer memory would never be forgotten.
