Story Transcript:

De: Johann war ein Mann, der Bücher und Geschichte liebte.
En: Johann was a man who loved books and history.

De: Doch Freunde hatte er wenige.
En: Yet, he had few friends.

De: An einem warmen Sommertag bummelte er über den Marienplatz in München.
En: On a warm summer day, he strolled across the Marienplatz in München.

De: Die Sonne schien hell, und die Luft war warm.
En: The sun was shining brightly, and the air was warm.

De: Plötzlich änderte sich das Wetter.
En: Suddenly, the weather changed.

De: Ein unerwarteter Regenschauer brach los.
En: An unexpected rain shower broke out.

De: Johann suchte schnell Schutz unter einem großen, alten Gebäude.
En: Johann quickly sought shelter under a large, old building.

De: Unter dem gleichen Dach stand Klara.
En: Under the same roof stood Klara.

De: Sie war freundlich und voller Neugierde.
En: She was friendly and full of curiosity.

De: Klara liebte es, neue Leute kennenzulernen und Geschichten zu hören.
En: Klara loved meeting new people and hearing stories.

De: Zu Beginn wusste sie nicht, dass Johann neben ihr stand.
En: At first, she didn't realize that Johann was standing next to her.

De: Aber als sie ihn sah, lächelte sie.
En: But when she saw him, she smiled.

De: "Hallo", sagte Klara fröhlich.
En: "Hello," said Klara cheerfully.

De: "Was für ein überraschender Regen, oder?"
En: "What a surprising rain, right?"

De: Johann nickte schüchtern und antwortete: "Ja, das ist typisch für den Sommer."
En: Johann nodded shyly and replied, "Yes, that's typical for the summer."

De: Klara bemerkte seine Zurückhaltung, wollte aber ein Gespräch beginnen.
En: Klara noticed his reticence but wanted to start a conversation.

De: "Magst du Geschichte?
En: "Do you like history?

De: Du siehst aus wie jemand, der viel weiß."
En: You look like someone who knows a lot."

De: Johann lächelte leicht.
En: Johann smiled slightly.

De: "Ja, ich liebe Geschichte.
En: "Yes, I love history.

De: Besonders die Geschichte Münchens."
En: Especially the history of München."

De: Klara lächelte.
En: Klara smiled.

De: "Das ist wunderbar!
En: "That's wonderful!

De: Ich mag auch Geschichte.
En: I like history too.

De: Sollen wir uns bei einem Kaffee darüber unterhalten, während der Regen vorüberzieht?"
En: Shall we talk about it over a coffee while the rain passes?"

De: Johann war nervös, wusste aber, dass er seine Komfortzone verlassen musste.
