Ko: 가을이 깊어가고 있었다.
En: Autumn was deepening.
Ko: 차가운 바람이 대학 기숙사의 창문을 스치듯 지나갔다.
En: The cold wind brushed past the windows of the university dormitory.
Ko: 진수는 책상에 앉아 열심히 책을 읽고 있었다.
En: Jinsu was sitting at his desk, studying diligently.
Ko: 바로 코앞에 시험이 있어서 집중이 필요했다.
En: There was a test right around the corner, so he needed to concentrate.
Ko: 그런데 그때, 방 안에서 이상한 소리가 들려왔다. "삐-삐-삐-" 무엇인가가 계속 울리고 있었다.
En: But just then, a strange noise came from inside the room. "Beep-beep-beep-" Something was continuously ringing.
Ko: 진수는 고개를 들어 주변을 둘러보았다.
En: Jinsu looked up and glanced around.
Ko: 옆에서는 혜진이 숨죽인 채 책을 덮고 있었다.
En: Next to him, Hyejin was holding her breath with her book closed.
Ko: "저 소리, 어디서 나는 거지?" 혜진이 물었다.
En: “Where is that sound coming from?” Hyejin asked.
Ko: "모르겠어. 뭔가 기분이 이상해. 퇴근하고 집에 왔는데, 아마도 기숙사 기계 문제인가 봐."
En: “I don’t know. It feels weird. I just got back home from work, and maybe it’s a dormitory machine problem.”
Ko: 두 사람은 소리의 근원을 찾기로 했다.
En: The two decided to find the source of the sound.
Ko: 책상을 뒤지고, 침대 밑을 들여다보고, 방 구석구석을 탐색했다.
En: They rummaged through the desk, looked under the bed, and searched every corner of the room.
Ko: 그러나 소리의 정체는 여전히 알 수 없었다.
En: However, the origin of the noise was still unknown.
Ko: 진수는 걱정이 됐다.
En: Jinsu started to worry.
Ko: 이제 시험이 얼마 남지 않았는데, 이대로는 집중할 수 없었다.
En: The test was approaching, and he couldn't focus with this going on.
Ko: 혜진은 고민에 빠졌다.
En: Hyejin pondered.
Ko: "우리 오늘이 중추절이잖아, 뭔가 특별한 계획을 세워보지 않을래? 여기서 소리나 찾지 말고 잠시 나가서 산책이라도 하자."
En: “It's Chuseok today, why don’t we plan something special? Let’s not look for the sound here; let's go out for a walk.”
Ko: "그래도 이 소리를 해결해야 할 것 같아. 내가 더 찾아볼게," 진수는 대답했다.
En: “But I think we need to solve this sound issue first. I’ll keep looking,” Jinsu replied.
Ko: 그는 혜진과 함께 음식을 나눠 먹으며 잠시나마 쉼을 취하고 싶었지만, 소리가 계속 신경 쓰였다.
En: He wanted to take a break and share food with Hyejin, but the sound kept bothering him.
Ko: 마침내, 진수는 중요한 스터디 그룹 시간까지 포기하며 소리의 근원을 찾기로 결심했다.
En: Finally, Jinsu decided to forgo his important study group time to find the source of the sound.

En: Hyejin, smiling, suggested to Jinsu, “Since it's Chuseok, let's have a small celebration. Resting is important too.”
Ko: 진수는 제안에 기꺼이 응했다.
