Badlands Book Club: The Creature From Jekyll Island - Chapter 15

CannCon and Ashe in America step back into early American history with Chapter 15 of The Creature from Jekyll Island by G. Edward Griffin, titled The Lost Treasure Map. This week covers the colonies' painful experience with fiat paper money, the resolve of the Founding Fathers to keep the new nation off of unbacked currency, and how that resolve shaped the drafting of the Constitution itself. The hosts walk through the creation of a true American dollar and the prosperity that followed, then pivot to how those hard learned lessons quietly faded once the people who lived through them were gone. Expect a genuinely hopeful chapter compared to recent ones, some classic old radio banter, and a healthy amount of frustration at how far modern politicians have strayed from that original blueprint.
