CannCon and Alpha Warrior trade war stories and Marine Corps memories on episode 172 of SITREP, opening with a tribute to the men who never came home and a reminder that freedom is protected by blood, not paper.
It starts light, with a day of dump runs and CannCon's story of hauling roofing debris after a hurricane in a heavy-duty truck and trailer filled to the brim. From there the conversation goes back to the invasion of Iraq: sandstorms that grounded air support and left you breathing through a caked balaclava, mystery chicken sausages, a gift of chicken from an old Iraqi woman, and the stomach bug the troops called Saddam's Revenge, plus a shout-out to the corpsmen who kept them going.
The back half turns to boot camp at Parris Island, from cold showers and getting caught breaking the rules to chow hall discipline and the best onion rings of their lives. They break down the ranks within ranks, including the legend of the Senior Lance Corporal, before a listener named Liberty Line calls in with a close call while taking down a massive tree.
