Even after Phyllis Phares' husband passed away, she insisted on staying in her friendly neighborhood on the west side of Charleston, West Virginia. But life takes a turn for the worse when the Mallo family moves in across the street. From the start, the family is an aggressive bunch, but Phyllis befriends their youngest child, Thomas. One night, Phyllis is horribly murder, and detectives soon suspect that Thomas and the rest of his family are hiding something. As the investigation heats up, detectives unearth a dark world of unspeakable abuse and neglect and soon an entire family will be placed behind bars.
