Should the Sun Belt Bring BACK Western Kentucky to Replace JMU? | Sun Belt Podcast

JMU’s planned move to the American Conference sends shockwaves through the Sun Belt—could Western Kentucky fill the void?

Conference realignment sparks speculation as fans debate whether WKU’s offensive firepower, rich coaching history with names like Jack Harbaugh and Jeff Brohm, and geographic fit give them the edge.

Will the Sun Belt opt for tradition or take a bold leap by targeting programs like Tarleton State, Delaware, or even Liberty?

Discussion centers on Middle Tennessee State’s potential tandem entry, market size concerns for Bowling Green, and whether the Sun Belt should expand or trim to 12 football members.

Financial implications, historic rivalries, and media rights add layers to the decision. With James Madison’s recent success and Keith Gill’s expansion strategy under scrutiny, the Sun Belt faces a pivotal crossroads.

Who will shape the future of the conference, and is Western Kentucky the obvious answer?
