Sending Solar Panels to Space and Won WMF 2026 | Jasper Deprez, CEO TerraSpark | BRP #134

🌍 What if the sun could power the world from space? ☀️

Jasper Deprez is the Co-Founder & CEO of TerraSpark, the European startup bringing Space-Based Solar Power from science fiction to commercial reality.

Jasper now leads a world-class team of entrepreneurs, engineers, and aerospace veterans on a mission to deliver clean, resilient energy from orbit, reaching the places traditional grids never could: remote industries, remote islands, and disaster zones 🌐.

Unlike conventional approaches that aim for city-scale solar farms in high Earth orbit, TerraSpark starts in Low Earth Orbit - proving the technology, the customers, and the economics step by step, before scaling further 📈.

At We Make Future 2026 in Bologna 🇮🇹, we sat down with Jasper to explore the intersection of aerospace ambition and entrepreneurial pragmatism - and why the future of energy might just be written in orbit. And if that wasn't enough, Jasper also took home the WMF 2026 award 🏆 - a recognition that confirms TerraSpark is not just a vision, but a venture the world is watching 👀.
