Lee Cronin's The Mummy

On this New Movie Monday Griffey, Heath and Sam unearth another mummified horror in Lee Cronin's The Mummy. They discuss how the film feels more like an Evil Dead riff than a mummy movie, the film's wild and intense horror set pieces, and the use of family trauma as the anchor point for a more intimate kind of horror film.

Synopsis: The young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace. Eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare.

Starring: Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, Shylo Molina, Billie Roy, Veronica Falcon, Hayat Kamille

Directed by Lee Cronin
