TPH 203: Proof's New PXT Technology

Proof Research announced PXT, a new gain-twist rifling system built off lessons from cannon barrel development, designed to cut pressure spikes, reduce throat erosion, and extend barrel life by up to 100%. In this episode, we break down the 500-year history of rifling, why gain-twist technology has been sitting on the shelf since the 1800s, and what PXT means for high-pressure cartridges, 6ARC, and the future of barrel manufacturing. We also get into why the timing lines up with military-driven high-pressure cartridge development, and why traditional twist barrels aren't going anywhere anytime soon either.
