9.29.26 | Nick Nurse on LeBron, Golf & Building a Winner | Presidents Cup Lessons + Black Desert with Colby Cowan | 5 Clubs

Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse joins Gary Williams for a wide-ranging conversation that goes well beyond basketball.

Nurse talks about playing Pine Valley, his passion for golf, taking over and revitalizing Carroll National in his hometown, and what he’s learned about building a winning culture throughout his coaching career. He also shares what it’s been like welcoming LeBron James to Philadelphia — including why their first face-to-face conversation quickly turned to golf.

Gary and Nurse dig into team building, leadership, and handling expectations, with lessons that translate directly to what we just watched at the Presidents Cup and what the U.S. will face moving toward the Ryder Cup.

Plus, Gary breaks down his biggest takeaways from the Presidents Cup, including potential format changes, the U.S. team approach, and just how dramatically younger elite golf has become.

Later, Colby Cowan, General Manager at Black Desert Resort, joins the show ahead of this week’s PGA TOUR stop in Utah. He takes us inside Black Desert, the incredible Southern Utah golf boom, and what makes Tom Weiskopf’s final design such a unique test.

Gary also looks at what’s at stake as the PGA TOUR, Korn Ferry Tour and DP World Tour enter a critical stretch of “employment season,” with players including Jackson Koivun and Ben James fighting for positioning and future opportunities.
