Washington Looking To Continue Its DOMINANCE In The Apple Cup

The Washington Huskies and Washington State Cougars are opening the 2026 college football season with the Apple Cup. Can Kirby Moore’s revamped Cougars, led by former UC Davis standout quarterback Caden Pinnock and an underrated linebacker corps featuring Keith Brown, shock the nation against Jedd Fisch and the No. 17 Huskies? Locked On Huskies host Roman Tomashoff and Locked On Pac-12 host Christian Rauh break down key matchups, from Washington’s strong defense and dynamic pass rush, spotlighting Xe'ree Alexander, Zaydrius Rainey-Sale, and freshman Ramzak Fruean, to the Huskies’ committee running back approach with breakout candidate Quaid Carr.

Key discussions include the critical battle in the trenches, the Cougs’ quest for a consistent running game after last year’s struggles, and Washington's quest to return to the College Football Playoff. The hosts offer bold predictions, spotlight freshmen to watch, and how the Huskies can continue to dominate the in-state rivalry.
