💼 Set Up Right: LLC, EIN, Insurance & Smart Growth for Lash Artists - 64 — Full Time Lash Artist Podcast with Cosmina Esanu

Starting (or formalizing) your lash business? In this episode, we break down the real-world steps to protect yourself legally and set up for scalable growth—without getting buried in jargon.

What we cover:

Why not to stay a sole proprietor: the risks of using your SSN for business and why it’s the easiest path to an audit.
LLC + EIN basics: how an LLC creates a liability shield and how to request a free EIN from the IRS (so you stop giving out your SSN).
Liability insurance 101: the simple policy most solo lash pros need and how to describe your services correctly.
Brand vs location: how to keep your brand even if you’re renting a room, and what changing addresses means for Google Business Profile.
Home studio vs salon room: pros/cons, client perception, parking, and verification assets (signage/logo) for local SEO.
Vertical scaling when you don’t want employees: trainings, courses, content, podcast/YouTube, and packaging your expertise.
Hiring vs raising prices: only hire when you’re fully booked; the “raise 20%, lose ~10%” rule of thumb to work less and earn more.
Ideal client persona: build “Jennifer” (age, income, city, habits) to aim your marketing where she actually spends time (hello, Facebook Groups).
Referral engine: a simple $25 refer-a-friend offer that compounds new bookings.
Starter ads that work: before/after creatives, boosting on IG/FB with a real budget, and why one booked full set can pay for a test.
Pricing strategy: never be the lowest or the highest at launch—start mid-market, then move up as demand grows.
