On this very special episode of Last Word On Spurs, we are honoured to be joined by Tottenham Hotspur legend Chris Hughton for a fascinating and deeply personal conversation about his remarkable journey with the Club.
Fresh from being inducted into the Tottenham Hotspur Hall of Fame in September 2026, as part of the Club’s newly relaunched heritage initiative, Chris takes us back through his extraordinary Spurs story — from breaking into the first team as a player in 1979, to being a key member of Keith Burkinshaw’s trophy-winning sides, and later returning to the Club to begin a hugely respected coaching career.
We reflect on his memories of the glory years, winning the FA Cup in 1981 and 1982 and the UEFA Cup in 1984, his experiences alongside some of the greatest names in Spurs history, and the transition from player to coach as he went on to serve the Club for an incredible 25 years.
But this conversation is about much more than football.
Chris opens up about what Tottenham Hotspur means to him personally, the people and moments that shaped his life at the Club, the special bond between Spurs and it’s supporters, and what it meant to finally take his place in the Hall of Fame alongside so many of the legendary figures who helped write Tottenham’s history.
A player. A coach. A mentor. A pioneer. And, above all, a Spurs man.
Join us for a very special conversation with one of Tottenham Hotspur’s true greats — Chris Hughton.
