https://youtu.be/fPU7aiJOn3k Before Ransom lands on Venus, Lewis wants you oriented: desire as echo, glory as telos, and a story driven by the end it aims at rather than by plot twists alone. This Mythic Mind introduction opens Perelandra by way of The Weight of Glory. Dr. Andrew Snyder (professor of philosophy and theology) frames secondary reading, names the major themes to watch, and keeps spoilers light so first readers can receive the floating islands without a map of every turn.
Topics include love as willing the good of the other, pleasure ordered toward its fulfillment, and why Perelandra trains desire before the Un-man arrives.
