This week is the 73rd anniversary of the U.S. coup in Iran. In our latest, we give a background on the geopolitics of the Cold War, U.S.-Soviet tension in Iran after World War Two, the politics of oil, and how it played into the overthrow of democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh. We discuss the current war in Iran and how this coup d'etat was the first action that led us to this moment.

We also discussed the passing of both American academic Ward Churchill and of British academic Jason Arday, and how the cravenness of liberal university administrators destroyed their careers.
