Mets Fans Show Pete Alonso a LOT of Love, Orioles Take the Game | Jonah Tong's 1st MLB Quality Start

New York Mets fall 2-1 to Baltimore Orioles as Jonah Tong delivers his first MLB quality start, overshadowing Pete Alonso’s emotional return to Citi Field.

Mets fans grapple with mixed feelings, chanting Alonso’s name in a night marked by odd energy and missed offensive opportunities.

Gunnar Henderson’s late solo homer proves decisive, while former Mets reliever Rico Garcia slams the door in the ninth.

Ryan Finkelstein spotlights Tong’s poised six-inning performance against an Orioles lineup buzzing with attention for Alonso’s homecoming.

Key moments include Francisco Alvarez’s struggles at the plate, critical bullpen decisions, and the lingering question: should the Mets have held onto talents like Garcia?

The episode also explores Alonso’s legacy, the impact of his departure, and how the Mets’ future could be shaped by these pivotal player moments.

Can New York recapture its spark with a shifting roster and emotional farewells defining the season?
