Dr. Anthony Fauci returned to Capitol Hill for a highly anticipated Senate hearing examining the origins of COVID-19, government-funded research and his actions during the pandemic. Fauci repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment, declining to answer more than 100 questions as Senator Rand Paul accused him of misleading Congress and warned that a contempt vote could follow.
